Commercial Lines Broker Trainee

In order to support our strategic growth plans, we have an immediate opening for an experienced personal lines sales broker who would like the opportunity to become a commercial lines sales broker. Extensive training will be provided to ensure the success of this candidate within a 12 month timeline. We are a progressive and growing Waterloo brokerage looking for special people  to join our team. We are a high energy, supportive group with a commitment to building strong, long lasting relationships with our clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Prospecting
  • Providing Insurance proposals and binding coverage
  • Crossselling and crossmarketing
  • Meeting our internal underwriting guidelines
  • Identifying new opportunities

The right candidate will be a team player who can help us meet these goals. The following attributes are a must:

  • Proven track record in personal lines sales
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated committment to ongoing learning and our company goals and values.

All candidates must be RIBO licensed or have the ability to obtain their license within 30 days of start date and have a minimum of 2 years experience in a personal lines sales role. The right candidate will also have great interpersonal and communication skills, be assertive, disciplined, self motivated and goal oriented, have a positive and energetic attitude, be a great team player, and be comfortable with technology. Preference will be given to applicants with a college diploma or university degree.

An attractive compensation package is provided.  Because we support new business development, the right candidate can earn an above average income.

We are also looking for a Technical Assistant, who will be responsible for reviewing policy documents, ordering and reviewing reports, and remarketing accounts, and backing up reception.

The right candidate will be a team player who can help us meet our goals.

  • A commitment to ongoing learning
  • A current RIBO license

  • A positive attitude

     

Preference will be given to applicants with 12 months experience in a brokerage office.
